it’s not tragic, an everyday parade,
half-priced Shakespeare on a high school stage,
but that’s alright, nothing stays the same,
if you blink twice the names have all been changed
there were a few good moments,
a few good moments in there somewhere,
a few good moments, that’s what I choose to remember..
it’s too easy to treat you like a muse,
but it’s your movie whatever parts you choose,
in our world nothing’s built to last,
in my case, I’m waving as you pass,
there were a few good moments,
a few good moments in there somewhere,
a few good moments,
that’s what I choose to remember,
did you notice? did you catch them as they’re flashing,
a few good moments, on the way to everlasting,
there were tears on my machine,
apologies and might-have-beens,
but we decide which parts to keep,
like the good ones, the good ones..
‘cause I loved you, clumsily, I know,
and you loved me, and it was just a glancing blow,
there were a few good moments,
a few good moments in there somewhere,
a few good moments, that’s what I choose to remember,
did you notice? did you catch them as they’re flashing,
a few good moments, all the way to everlasting…
