Can’t Sleep

10-can’t_sleepI can’t sleep, I’m too stuck,
had a dream where it all worked out,
with my luck, I woke up, I think that’s too bad..
it was too sweet, you were so there,
now I’m left with the thin night air
and I can’t sleep, it’s too clear..
+++ but how could I blame you for just lettin’ it be?
+++ and how could I blame you for slippin’ past me?
+++ I would not blame you for bein’ that free
just give me a day to pick my head up off my knees,
`cause I can’t sleep..

I can’t sleep, it’s too strange,
could’ve sworn that my luck had changed,
a missed beat, misstep, misread face..
and this light never turns green,
it’s a sight that I’m used to seeing
and there’s a white mouse runnin’ a treadmill in my brain..
+++ but how could I blame you for just lettin’ it be?
+++ and how could I blame you for slippin’ past me?
+++ I would not blame you for bein’ that free
just give me a day.. won’t you give me a day?
just give me a day to take my heart back off my sleeve,
‘cause I can’t sleep…
