I recall a moment when I held your hand,

like light from stars 1000 years away..

astronauts miss small things left behind on earth,

gravity, a summer breeze, the sound of calling birds,

I could hear your heartbeat, and I wat hed your face turn

toward light from stars before the sun was born..

astronauts may travel to Jupiter or Mars,
to colonize, or just survive,
to drive their flying cars,
if your heart’s a planet, I never got that far,
there’s a corner of my sky where you can stay,
like light from stars 1000 years away..
